Job description

DFP Recruitment is a preferred supplier to the Local Government Association. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Property Officer for a Council located city fringe. This will be an initial 12-month temporary assignment.

This part-time role (3 full working days per week) is based on site and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to property operations and community land management. You’ll be joining a small, collaborative team of three.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage leases, licenses, and tenancy agreements for Council buildings and land
  • Coordinate property maintenance contracts (e.g., cleaning, HVAC, pest control)
  • Ensure compliance with WHS and legislative requirements for tenanted buildings
  • Maintain lease registers and support strategic property decisions (e.g., acquisitions, disposals)
  • Assist with road closures, encroachments, and community/commercial leases and licenses
  • Contribute to asset management planning and capital works programs
About You:
  • Experience in Council or State Government is preferrable
  • Strong knowledge of property legislation and asset management practices
  • Skilled in negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder engagement
  • Proficient in maintaining property databases and documentation
  • Motivated, organised, and able to work independently within a team
