Based in the heart of Sydney's CBD, this onsite position will be a 12-month adventure you won't want to miss.

About the Role:

As the Events Technical Director, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional technical excellence for activities conducted at the Customer Insight Centre (CIC) in Sydney. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organization, you'll be instrumental in creating world-class customer experiences and events. Your role will involve close collaboration with our Experiential Operate team and engagement with every facet of our business, enabling the development of cutting-edge, digital-first approaches designed to inform, inspire, and captivate our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the go-to Technical Director for events and productions held at the Sydney CIC, offering expert technical guidance and support to both internal and external customers.

· Event Planning and Execution. Strategically plan and impeccably execute all technical aspects of large-scale hybrid and virtual events, as well as broadcast productions

· Provide expert support for Technical, Virtual Platform, Video Conferencing, and AV system requirements during customer demonstrations, meetings, and major CIC events.

· Be the first point of contact for technical issues and equipment failures within the CIC, conducting immediate assessments and diagnostics to determine optimal solutions.

· Work closely with external suppliers and providers to efficiently address technical issues

· Lead projects to introduce innovative technical solutions within the CIC, continuously exploring opportunities for enhancement. Offer support to users, Proof of Concept (POC) teams, and technology partners for new initiatives.

· Fault Reporting and Recommendations

· Follow best practices, policies, and procedures within the CIC to ensure operational excellence and a proactive approach to maintaining operational technologies.

· Documentation Management

· Inventory Control

· Offer operational support for events outside of regular working hours as required, ensuring the technical success of all CIC activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

·
Highly desirable technical tertiary education

· Minimum of 4 years' experience in event AV and broadcast environments

· Preferred experience working as a technical director with an AV production organization

· Exceptional problem-solving and diagnostic skills for swift technical issue resolution

· Proficiency in virtual and hybrid event delivery

· Strong knowledge of video standards, including routing and mixing

· Background in audio patching and mixing within corporate and broadcast environments

· Preferable knowledge of networking and video conferencing

· Demonstrated capacity to plan individual and functional workload activities

· Aptitude for identifying and implementing innovative solutions to operational challenges

· Self-management skills with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
