Job description

DFP Recruitment is currently seeking a reliable and organised Administrative Assistant to support a government department based in Narrabri NSW. This role is fully office-based with full attendance expected Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will have solid administrative skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and be confident managing a range of office duties in a fast-paced environment. Previous admin experience is preferred but not essential.

Role responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Managing various office administration tasks including filing, minute-taking, payment coordination, and accommodation booking
  • Coordinating meetings and maintaining diaries
  • Processing purchase orders and invoices in accordance with procurement policies
  • Creating and maintaining accurate files and documents for easy retrieval
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders such as Work Supervisors, Support Officers, and Engineers to support business operations
In addition, successful candidates will demonstrate the following:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams
  • Previous administration experience preferred but not mandatory
