An exciting opportunity exists to join a reputable State Government Department as a Communications Advisor (AO5). Two internal contractor positions are currently available within the Stakeholder Management team, supporting key infrastructure initiatives across the North Coast Region.
The Stakeholder Management team provides strategic communication advice and support across all business areas. As a Communications Advisor, you will contribute to the success of high-profile transport infrastructure projects by developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies tailored to diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert communication support including strategy development, risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, and media/issues management.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, other government agencies, project partners, contractors, and community groups.
- Plan, develop and manage communication activities and events that align with project milestones and engagement objectives.
- Ensure communication practices comply with relevant policies, legislation, and governance frameworks.
About You:
- Proven ability to develop and sustain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Comfortable adapting in dynamic environments and managing evolving project needs.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic communication or community engagement, ideally in infrastructure, transport, or civil projects.
- Skilled in public relations, media, executive correspondence, and community liaison.
- A degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing is highly regarded.
- IAP2 certification (or willingness to obtain it) will be favourably considered.
Additional Information:
- These full-time roles are based in Maroochydore.
- Hours: Up to 38 hours per week, between 7am–6pm Monday to Friday, with a standard 5-day week.
