Job description

Join the Queensland Government as an HR Advisor, providing high-quality human resources support across major state projects. You will lead recruitment and selection, advise on HR policies, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure compliance with legislation and industrial frameworks. This role involves preparing briefs, reports, and correspondence to a high standard, while supporting the Principal HR Advisor in maturing HR service delivery and strengthening workforce capability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead recruitment and selection within public sector frameworks.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to determine resourcing needs.
  • Develop and update position descriptions and HR documentation.
  • Apply HR policies, legislation, and industrial agreements to deliver outcomes.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and resource requests.
  • Support HR service delivery initiatives and workforce planning.
About You:
  • Recent Queensland Government experience.
  • Independent, proactive HR advisor.
  • Strong knowledge of HR legislation, policies, and frameworks.
  • Have experience in recruitment and selection within the public sector
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, sound judgement, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and clear written communication skills.
