Job description

 APS 5 - Procurement Officer
  • $55.24/Hourly (+ Super)  
  • Canberra
  • Contract (12-months, possible extension)
About the role
The position is accountable under limited supervision to undertake moderately complex to complex research, analysis, and advice work including legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies, and precedents guide the position as it provides procurement advice.

Duties
  • Providing procurement advice to the agency business areas as a procurement business partner, establishing appropriate procurement methodologies, preparing a range of procurement documentation, reporting, evaluating tenders and negotiating contracts.
  • Providing high-level administrative and procurement support and managing confidential and sensitive information.
  • Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Guidelines, Procurement Policy and procedures, and ensuring value for money based outcomes.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements and contributing to the continuous development of procurement processes.
  • Providing internal and external stakeholders with quality and timely advice.
  • Monitoring and progressing work area activities and achieving work area objectives
Key skills 
  • Federal, State or Local Government experience.
  • Understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high volume requests and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to remain composed in a changing, fast paced environment
  • Procurement experience or Cert IV in Procurement
  • Stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
  • Professional document writing experience
  • Previous experience using finance business systems
