Job description

Claims Officer - Federal Government
Location: Perth, St Georges Terrace  
Position Type: Full-Time hours, 12-month labour hire contract through DFP Recruitment Services and placed with the Federal Government client.
Hourly Rate: $44 per hour plus 11.5% Superannuation (casual loading included, no leave entitlements) 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process claims from individuals seeking compensation for service-related injuries or health conditions within legislative and policy guidelines.
  • Manage and update client files using records management systems, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
  • Research, analyse, and assess complex client information to determine liability and entitlements.
  • Communicate with clients and their representatives to gather additional information and update them on claim progress.
  • Make initial assessments of client eligibility for compensation and benefits.
  • Approve invoices related to claims for reimbursement to health service providers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to verify and share information for effective decision-making.
  • Process written requests to withdraw claims and maintain a detailed understanding of multiple benefit and claim types.
  • Support new staff and contribute to process improvements.
About You:
  • Previous experience in claims or case management.
  • Ability to understand complex information and work within legislative frameworks.
  • Quick learner with excellent feedback acceptance.
  • Ability to interpret medical records, including mental health, accidents, and injuries.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resilient and capable of handling complex and sensitive inquiries.
The Rewards:
  • Competitive rate of $44 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • 12-month full-time position (37.5 hours/week), Monday to Friday.

Additional Information:
- This is a labour hire position with no leave entitlements, but casual loading is included in the rate.

Successful candidates must be Australian Citizens and willing to undertake a National Police Clearance.
