Claims Officer - Federal Government
Location: Perth, St Georges Terrace
Position Type: Full-Time hours, 12-month labour hire contract through DFP Recruitment Services and placed with the Federal Government client.
Hourly Rate: $44 per hour plus 11.5% Superannuation (casual loading included, no leave entitlements)
Key Responsibilities:
- This is a labour hire position with no leave entitlements, but casual loading is included in the rate.
Successful candidates must be Australian Citizens and willing to undertake a National Police Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process claims from individuals seeking compensation for service-related injuries or health conditions within legislative and policy guidelines.
- Manage and update client files using records management systems, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Research, analyse, and assess complex client information to determine liability and entitlements.
- Communicate with clients and their representatives to gather additional information and update them on claim progress.
- Make initial assessments of client eligibility for compensation and benefits.
- Approve invoices related to claims for reimbursement to health service providers.
- Collaborate with colleagues to verify and share information for effective decision-making.
- Process written requests to withdraw claims and maintain a detailed understanding of multiple benefit and claim types.
- Support new staff and contribute to process improvements.
- Previous experience in claims or case management.
- Ability to understand complex information and work within legislative frameworks.
- Quick learner with excellent feedback acceptance.
- Ability to interpret medical records, including mental health, accidents, and injuries.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Resilient and capable of handling complex and sensitive inquiries.
- Competitive rate of $44 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation.
- 12-month full-time position (37.5 hours/week), Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week after training.
- Ongoing training and professional development.
