Job description

A large Federal Government agency is seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join its Procurement and Contract Management team. These roles will be based in Canberra. These will be FT hours in a 12month contract role

These roles offer the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of effective procurement and contract management outcomes that support the agency’s strategic objectives in health, disability, ageing, and community services.

About the Roles:
  • APS5 Contract Manager Officer (Data Administration Officer)
  • 2 x APS6 Contract Manager Officers (Procurement and Contract Administrators)
As a Contract Manager Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring procurement activities are delivered efficiently, transparently and in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).

APS5 responsibilities include:
  • Supporting contract administration activities such as monitoring deliverables, milestones, and records.
  • Ensuring compliance with CPRs and agency policies.
  • Providing administrative and reporting support to the procurement team.
APS6 responsibilities include:
  • Leading and managing low to medium complexity procurement processes.
  • Drafting and negotiating contract terms, including performance and renewals.
  • Providing advice on procurement strategy, risk management and compliance.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contributing to capability development and continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful candidates will demonstrate:
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules and frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Experience with procurement and financial systems (e.g. SAP, Finance One) is desirable.
Relevant qualifications in procurement, contract management, business or a related discipline are highly regarded.

  • Work type: Non-ongoing labour hire arrangement
  • Hours: Full time (40 hours per week)
  • Contract Term: 22 September 2025 – 30 September 2026 (with possible 12-month extension)
  • Location: Canberra, ACT
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain
