Job description

Our Federal Government client are dedicated to supporting their clients and is Australia’s leading provider of mental health services specifically for this community. Their services are client centred, trauma informed and recovery oriented, with a strong commitment to compassion and care informed by lived experience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Contracts Officer to join their Business Operations Branch. In this role, you’ll support a wide range of administrative and contract management tasks that are crucial to the delivery of their mental health services.
You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team where you can apply your skills across governance, procurement, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate governance and administrative functions, including records management and reporting
  • Manage low to medium risk contracts, including procurement, risk and performance monitoring
  • Prepare procurement and contract documentation and ensure compliance with policies
  • Maintain accurate contract data and performance tracking using procurement systems
  • Interpret contract terms, assess variations, and provide advice on policy and processes
  • Support business planning, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Prepare high-quality briefings, reports and correspondence
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture in line with APS Values
Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in administration and/or project support
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good research, analysis, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Initiative, good judgement, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with databases and systems for tracking, reporting or procurement (desirable)
Mandatory:
  • Australian Citizenship is required
  • The successful applicant must be willing to undergo a security clearance if required.
  • Previous experience in a government or contract management setting is desirable but not mandatory.
