Job description

We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced HR Generalists at APS5 equivalent levels to join the Workplace Relations and Conditions team within a Federal Government Agency. The opportunity is a 6-month temporary assignment with the availability to be based in either Richmond or Geelong.
 
The Role
 
The HR Generalist will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. They may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agency’s strategic goals.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Managing, resolving and responding to a range of employee issues and enquiries in line with the Enterprise Agreement (EA), work practices and relevant legislation including remuneration aspects.
  • Providing advice and support on a range of functions, including performance, systems and processes in the context of policies and legislation.
  • Managing and delivering identified projects.
  • Providing support to senior business leaders, managers and employees on the impact of work practice changes.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider division to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing, and to build understanding of business needs.
  • Providing analysis of reports regularly on a range of P&C metrics, activities and processes.
About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced HR Generalist who has demonstrated abilities in a similar role.
 
In addition, you will have the following key skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High-level administrative skills and demonstrated experience in the Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel and Word
  • Ability to deal with complex industrial matters and support areas within the Agency to manage the NDIA's relationship with the Community and Public Sector Union.
Desirable candidates will possess
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and procedure
  • Knowledge of workplace and employment related legislation including the Fair Work Act 2009.
  • Possess relevant tertiary qualifications
