This role is key to managing complex and high-risk procurement activities across the Department. Key Responsibilities
As a Procurement Officer, you will:
- Lead the development and management of complex and high-risk contracts, procurement planning, and tender documentation.
- Provide expert advice on procurement and contract management issues.
- Award, vary, extend, or terminate contracts within approved authority.
- Support teams with contractor and supplier performance management.
- Contribute to policy and process improvements, ensuring compliance with supply legislation and best practices.
- Mentor and support Contract Officers to build capability across the team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to promote efficient and effective procurement outcomes.
About You
You’re a strategic thinker and experienced procurement professional who brings:
- Substantial experience in complex contracts, tendering, and purchasing.
- Strong knowledge of public sector procurement practices and policies.
- Expertise in contract performance review and risk management.
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and service delivery.
