About the Organisation
Our client is a Federal Government Agency looking to engage an APS5 Learning and Development Coordinator for a 12 month contract with 2x12 month possible extensions.

About the Role
The APS5 Learning and Development Officer position supports the delivery of the Agency’s L&D strategy, workforce strategy, leadership strategy and graduate programs. They will play a key role across both the L&D and Workforce Planning & Graduate Placement teams and will coordinate and provide support to L&D programs, workforce planning initiatives and the Agency’s graduate program.
The role will be required to work under limited direction, in a dynamic and collaborative environment, to set high standards, liaising with key stakeholders across the Agency.
To be successful in this role, the applicant will have experience working in a busy HR team, primarily in Learning & Development, Workforce Planning or Graduate Programs, with the ability to quickly learn Agency policies and processes. The role will work within both the Workforce Planning & Graduate Program team and the Learning and Development team. This will require strong prioritisation, time management and organisational skills.
 
This is a fast-paced role and requires an adaptable and agile solutions-based thinker. The ideal applicant will have strong customer service skills and be required to provide sound advice and guidance regarding workforce planning, graduate and learning and development activities and working within the APS and the Agency’s legislative and policy frameworks.
 
Responsibilities in this position will include:
  • Coordinate and support L&D solutions, Workforce Planning Initiatives and the agency Graduate Program to build capability in the workforce.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities for the outputs of the team.
  • Undertake research and analysis, including environmental scanning and deep dives for workforce planning and L&D.
  • Contribute to the setting of the direction of work priorities and practices, monitoring workflow and identifying training needs.
  • Play a key role in the coordination and implementation of core technical training including digital literacy, project management, data skills, clinical skills, and leadership.
  • Play a key role in the coordination and implementation of the Agency Graduate Program and Workforce Planning initiatives.
  • Support senior advisers and relevant stakeholders on the implementation of the L&D strategy, Leadership strategy and Workforce Planning Strategy.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance of L&D processes, identify, and support identified risks.
  • Anticipate, identify, and respond to stakeholders needs and expectations to achieve work outcomes.
  • Assist in the management of corporate functions including human resources, property, information technology security and finances.
  • Managing and actioning inbox
  • Support the Learning and Development and Workforce Planning team on a number of projects and activities across the Agency:
    • Annual operational Workforce Planning activities
    • Workforce Strategy Project support
    • Graduate, student placement and entry level program support
  • Meeting coordination, support and minute taking
  • Assisting with data compilation, manipulation and reporting
  • Research and assisting with the development of Workforce Planning and Graduate programs processes
  • Assisting with Career Fairs (virtual and/or in person)
 Those suitable to be considered will have:
  • Strong administration and coordination skills
  • High-level organisational and time management skills
  • High-level analytical and research skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in organizing training, meetings, presentations and, ideally, careers fairs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership over a range of duties
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Strong planning and time management skills
  • Strong administration skills, experience with LMS (desirable) and Microsoft Suite (Essential)
  • Ability to adapt within a rapidly changing environment
  • Assisting with data compilation, manipulation and reporting
 Those with previous experience in a Workforce Planning role or Learning and Development Coordination role will be very highly regarded and HR Generalist experience/knowledge is also desirable.
