Actuary Opportunities – APS5 & APS6 Levels | Hybrid | Australian Citizenship Required


Are you an experienced actuary looking to make a meaningful impact in the public sector? We’re recruiting for multiple contract roles at APS5 and APS6 levels to support a high-profile national initiative aimed at improving outcomes for various sectors of Australians.


About the Roles

We are seeking:
  • APS5 Actuaries: Ideal for professionals with 2–4 years of experience, these roles focus on data analysis, performance monitoring, and supporting statutory reporting requirements.
  • APS6 Senior Actuaries: Suited to candidates with 4–7 years of experience, these leadership roles involve strategic planning, complex problem-solving, and team coordination.
Both roles contribute to a dynamic and purpose-driven environment, using statistical and mathematical modelling to support scheme effectiveness and forecasting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Extract, cleanse and prepare data from multiple sources
  • Develop and update performance monitoring tools
  • Support statutory reporting
  • Conduct actuarial monitoring, cost-benefit analyses, and ad hoc modelling
  • Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
  • APS6 roles include additional leadership, planning, and strategic responsibilities

About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics or Statistics
  • Progression toward Associate or Fellowship qualifications
  • APS5: Part I and progress with Part II actuarial education
  • APS6: Parts I, II and progress with Part III
  • Australian citizenship is required
  • Strong communication and analytical skills

Contract Details
  • Initial 12-month contracts with potential 12-month extension
  • Hybrid working arrangements (minimum 3 days in-office per week)
  • No security clearance required
  • Australian Citizenship is a requirement of these roles.
