Job description

  • 12-month contract
  • $58.50 per hour + super
The Role

The APS6 Community Engagement and Communications Officer will be required to perform engagement and community stakeholder relationship management as part of a team. Key aspects of the role include presentation and public speaking, relationship management and administrative support. It will require working collaboratively within the team including sharing and developing specialised knowledge in areas of expertise.
 
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Delivering clear, concise and effective messaging to people with disability, their families and carers as well as other community and mainstream stakeholders.
  • Producing content for a variety of channels.
  • Providing logistical management and advice to the Agency to deliver proactive and nationally consistent engagement activities.
  • Contributing to the implementation and operationalisation of a targeted, proactive engagement strategy.
  • Working with the leadership team to promote and implement best practice stakeholder and engagement management model.
  • Coordinating critical data analysis and feedback to measure effectiveness of activities and strategies.
  • Undertaking document management of event documentation.
 
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Public speaking will form a major part of this role 
  • Travel intrastate and interstate will be required at times 
  • Stakeholder relationship development and management will be a key part of this role
  • Possess communications and engagement experience, along with excellent organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Make decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, under limited guidance
