Job description

  • 12-month contract
  • $58.50 per hour + super
Our client is currently seeking multiple APS6 FOI Triage Strategy Officers & FOI/PIA Delegates to join their team in their Melbourne office.  

These roles will require you will be responsible for providing operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge.
 
You will be in a position of limited supervision that’s requires you to assume team leadership and management responsibility such as the setting of priorities and management of team workflows.
 
This will be a varied, busy role and requires someone with resilience and an ability to work in a changing environment.
 
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Being responsible for PIA/FOI matters including consulting with relevant line areas, making decisions and ensuring all matters, including complex and sensitive matters, are recorded and closed correctly on all databases in accordance with the FOI Act.
  • Mentoring and supporting, Action Officers to ensure timely processing of requests.
  • Preparing and contributing to a range of other material including briefing material for Ministers. Board papers, quarterly and annual reports, media releases, reports to Parliamentary committees and correspondence.
  • Supporting the development of systems, processes and practical tools including delivering training to support FOI handling and awareness.
  • Reviewing, amending or developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies, template documents and other governance documents to assist with consistent decision making within the team in consultation with other FOI and PIA delegates.
  • Coordinating and providing training in FOI and PIA within the team as well as providing outreach and training to increase the understanding of FIO and PIA responsibilities in business area.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Strong customer service and communication skills along with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
  • Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • It is highly desirable that applicants have an understanding of or lived experience in the field of disability.
