Our client is an independent statutory agency that is responsible for supporting a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent and their families and carers.

About the Team
The Communications and Engagement Business Partners Branch provides communications and engagement solutions and advice to support the Agency.
They lead development and implementation of multi-channel communication and engagement strategies to support key initiatives across the Agency and drive engagement with key internal and external audiences.

About the Role
The APS6/ EL1 Communications and Engagement Project Officer is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities including the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.
The position has reasonable autonomy and accountability to exercise both initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures to achieve outcomes within the functions.

The APS6/EL1 Communications and Engagement Project Officer will provide detailed technical, professional, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. 
The role may have exposure to the public in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues. It may liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the branch and wider Agency.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Developing and Supporting the strategic direction to project areas to drive behavioural change through Communications and Engagement with targeted content and engagement activities.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of communications and engagement plans, producing accessible and Plain English content for a variety of channels (e.g.website, Ministerial and Executive Briefings, social media and other communication platforms)
  • Contributing within a project management framework including, strategic planning, reporting and forecasting to identify priority areas for communication and engagement.
  • Supporting leaders in driving organisational change and corporate culture in complex environments with the ability to quickly earn trust and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Making decisions, with support and direction from line managers, on communications and engagement projects with considerable complexity and sensitivity
  • Developing and delivering best practice communication and engagement to staff with measurable impact
  • Developing a range of internal and external accessible communication material including key message packs, articles, documents, web content, PowerPoint presentations and leadership
  • Experience working with change management, delivering behavioural change within agile project management methodology.
