  • 6 month initial contract with view to further extension

Our Federal Government Client enhances Australian agricultural industries and trade, and manages the threat of biosecurity risks to Australia.
 
The role

The Client Contact Group (CCG) is the central contact point for external clients to the department. The team responds to a diverse range of phone and email enquiries and accesses information about a broad range of topics to provide assistance to external clients.
 
CCG are looking for an Assistant Director to project manage the delivery and change implementation of a new telephony contact centre platform.


Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Contribute to the identification and assessment of national call centre functionality to meet current and future business needs
  • Undertake strategic planning to meet business objectives in line with sound decision making
  • Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes, and facilitate cooperation
  • Effectively manage competing priorities including delivering on complex project outcomes
  • Lead the development of system processes and guidance support materials
  • Lead and champion change management and support stakeholders in transition and implementation of a new platform
  • Prepare reports, briefing papers, and discussion papers
  • Support the Directors to provide advice to the division’s executive team on project deliverables.
Experience and capabilities required:
  • Experience in leading, managing and supporting staff to work collaboratively in a challenging, complex and fast paced national call centre environment
  • Knowledge or an understanding of the department’s role in delivering national biosecurity operations
  • Experience in implementing change and managing ambiguity in the workplace
  • Experience in IT project coordination and delivering sound outcomes for an operational business
  • High level writing skills with demonstrated experience delivering a range of written products including briefings for senior executives, minutes, policy documents and technical documents
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team and with a broad range of stakeholders/ facilitate and support a positive team environment and create a dynamic, flexible and collegiate workplace.
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
