The Opportunity

Our client is a Australian Government agency seeking professional Customer Service focused staff to assist non-English speaking customers in their busy Contact Centre.
The Contact Centre plays a vital role in delivering language services to Australia’s culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) community and supporting the Australian Government’s Access and Equity policy. As a Contact Centre Operator, you will play a key role in connecting people who do not speak English and agencies that need to communicate with their non-English speaking clients.
Initial assignment until June 30, 2024 with a view to a further 12 month extension

  • Experience in providing a high level of customer service, preferably in a Contact Centre environment
  • Great attention to detail & excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Thrive in KPI-driven environment and work to a highly structured schedule 
Your Role

  • Assist our non-English speaking clients by connecting them to an interpreter in their language, and then to a third-party service
  • Manage inbound calls, register and allocate interpreters within targeted time frames
  • Create invoices and accurately record data
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators including average handling time, adherence and quality assurance targets
  • Deliver a high-quality customer service to a culturally diverse community
There is opportunity for this to be an on-going temp role with the potential for career growth for high performers. The role is based on a variable roster from Monday to Sunday and rostered hours are scheduled between 8am – 8pm. The role requires a full-time commitment, up to 38hours per week.

You will be supported in a team environment with ongoing training and coaching for you to fulfil your role to the full potential. This position offers an attractive hourly rate and is based in Melbourne CBD, close to public transport.
