Job description

Our state government client are seeking a Senior Contract Officer for a 3 month temporary casual contract assignment in their Perth CBD Office.

Job Title: 
Senior Contract Officer
Employer: State Government Client through DFP Recruitment
Position Type: Temporary Casual Contract, there is casual loading in the hourly rate in lieu of leave entitlements
Pay Rate: $55-$65 per hour + Super
Working Hours: Full time or Part time (3 days minimum)
Duration: 13th May 2024 - 2nd August 2024
Location: Perth CBD (No WFH available)
Role Overview Develops contract and tender documentation. Manages allocated contracts in accordance with organisational requirements. Participates in or manages contract development projects in accordance with Government and Health Service objectives. Reviews and monitors health contracts.

Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Development
  • Develops contract specifications and documentation.
  • Contributes to complex contract development for the client.
  • Liaises and negotiates with stakeholders.
  • Provides specialist advice and support.
2. Contract Management
  • Reviews and monitors contracts for compliance.
  • Prepares reports and recommendations.
  • Monitors contractor performance.
  • Liaises with stakeholders.
  • Prepares submissions, papers, and reports.
  • Undertakes project life-cycle development.
3. Administrative Duties
  • Conducts research and policy analysis.
  • Maintains liaison with senior officers.
  • Drafts correspondence and reports.
  • Represents the Unit on committees and working groups.
4. Governance, Safety and Quality Requirements
  • Maintains a safe work environment.
  • Participates in Peak Performance program.
  • Supports safe patient care and quality improvement.
  • Adheres to procurement and contract management framework.
  • Completes mandatory training.
  • Performs duties in accordance with relevant regulations and policies.
Essential Selection Criteria
1. Substantial experience in the development and management of medium risk contracts.
2. Well-developed research, analytical and problem solving skills.
3. Well-developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, together the ability to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated experience in the coordination of a range of projects including the ability to plan, prioritise, make decisions, meet deadlines and manage issues.
5. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.
6. Demonstrated high level of PC experience with proven skills in word processing, spread sheeting and databases.

Desirable Selection Criteria
1. Tertiary degree qualifications in a relevant discipline.
2. Knowledge of best practice procurement processes
