Rate: $1,250 per day + superannuation
Title: Data Architect
Location: NSW or VIC / WFH 2 days per week (hybrid)
Checks: AU citizenship, NV1 security clearance
Duration: 12 months + extension/s

Outline:
The Data Architect plays a central role in supervising a project stream for the data warehouse platform. This role includes overseeing a team of two direct reports and involves tasks such as updating documentation for data development, providing technical guidance to developers, and assessing and endorsing data designs and models. Additionally, the Data Architect is expected to offer expertise and thought leadership in various data-related aspects, encompassing architecture, modelling, design, integration, and end-to-end data delivery approaches. They are also responsible for providing guidance and counsel on multiple data delivery initiatives and approving data delivery patterns. Crucially, the primary focus of this role is to collaborate with key business areas to develop and implement accessible reports and analytics that address significant risks and emerging trends within those areas, thereby playing an essential role in data-informed decision-making within the organisation.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Provide thought leadership in data architecture, modeling, design, integration, and data delivery lifecycle approaches.
  • Govern and advise on data delivery initiatives, including setting standards.
  • Lead project teams by offering technical guidance and facilitating design reviews.
  • Improve data delivery framework for integrating new sources and enhancing performance.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions on development and data modeling best practices.
  • Manage the technical implementation of new data.
  • Promote continuous improvement in delivery principles, coding standards, and documentation.
  • Provide guidance on data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical models.
  • Collaborate with data consumers, database development, testers, and IT support teams.
  • Contribute to design specifications for consumption layer materials and data modeling standards.
  • Identify and address areas where data standards are not met.
  • Ensure the quality of consumption layer materials, adherence to test standards, and efficient code production.

Candidate Profile:
  • 6+ years of experience in similar roles.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Teradata, with demonstrated ability in code development, auditing, and review.
  • Strong Data Architecture skills, including the design of enterprise-scale conformed models for analytical purposes.
  • Understanding of DevOps processes.
  • High-level competency in Data Architecture, including various modeling techniques.
  • Knowledge of version control systems and their appropriate use.
  • Competency in using required systems, such as Teradata and Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret data models and specifications.
  • Tertiary qualifications in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related disciplines.
