DFP Recruitment are proudly working with Open Arms in search for an experienced Health Professional to join the team as Assistant Director within their Client Assist Contact Centre in Brisbane.  The first three weeks are paid mandatory training and induction, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.  Following on, you will be working on a rotating roster across 7 days between the hours of 7am and 12am.

The Assistant Director Clinical Operations, is responsible to the Director for overseeing and managing the provision of health and allied health telephony based service that provides clinical intake, escalations services, brief telephone counselling interventions, risk and safety planning for Veterans and their families who are in distress.

This role is well suited to a Psychologist or Mental Health Social Worker who is passionate about and experienced in providing clinical leadership in mental health, supervising, and supporting staff to effectively manage performance and professional development, implementing clinical policy and quality assurance programs.

Your duties will include clinical oversight, monitor the delivery of clinical intake and counselling services, coordinate the training and induction of clinical staff and provide expert advice on policy, complex problem solving issues management for internal and external stakeholders.

To be considered you must have the following:

  • Qualifications must be that of a psychologist or accredited mental health social worker.
  • Qualified psychologists must have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
  • Mental health accredited social workers must be registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Strong preference is for health and allied health professionals with substantial complex mental health experience in intake, triage, risk assessment and counselling.
  • Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance must be obtained prior to commencing in the position.
  • Both psychologists and mental health social workers must have extensive clinical and relevant management of a clinical team experience
  • To be able to accommodate the 24/7 operational service delivery of the centre, you will be required to work within a roster that spans across the working week, weekends and some public holidays. Shift spans are from 7am to 12am.  Weekend requirements will be approximately once per month.
  • Complex case management experience is highly desirable but not mandatory

  • Attractive hourly rate of $80 p/h + super
