The Organisation:
Our client is currently seeking an EL1 Assistant Director Strategy to join a team within a Federal Government Agency based in the Adelaide CBD.
This Government agency works with people with disability, providers, and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive, and effective regulation of service providers. They seek to uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of people with disability receiving supports or services.
The Strategy Branch provides strategic advice to business areas and senior executive. They help them prioritise and make decisions about work to improve the agency and deliver improved outcomes for participants. The branch ensures projects and initiatives align to organisational priorities and provides insights and solutions through a flexible approach, in partnership with stakeholders.
The Role:
The EL1 Assistant Director Strategy is accountable under direction to undertake work with a high level of complexity that has strategic, political and operational significance.
The position will be responsible for analysis and insight development contributing to strategy development, policies, priorities and operational practices. It will be required to coordinate and assume responsibility for highly complex, sensitive projects or work programs aimed at achieving the mission to ‘build a world-leading program for it’s participants’.
The EL1 Assistant Director Strategy will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the functions. The position will exercise sound judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support. In this role, you are also responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and may be required to represent and negotiate on the agency’s behalf.
This is an assignment from approximately late October for 12 months, working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with a payrate of $602.55 per day plus super. This role is based in the Adelaide CBD although some work from home may be available. You must hold Australian Citizenship at the time of applying.

- Gathering and developing structured insights and recommendations for strategic projects.
- Developing fact based quantitative and qualitative analysis including modelling in MS Excel.
- Creating materials for senior internal and external stakeholders, including the Minister, Board and Executive Leadership Team to communicate perspectives, recommendations and implications for the Agency.
- Presenting recommendations and facilitating discussions with a range of Agency stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Developing action plans and ensuring stakeholder alignment to enable successful implementation.
- Developing content to embed change, including authorship of policy papers and guidance materials.
- Collaborating with and supporting business areas to structure problems, inform options and drive solutions and Agency-wide priorities.

- Experience of living with a disability (desirable)
