About the Organisation
Our client is a Federal Government Departement responsible for law and justice. They deliver programs and policies to maintain and improve Australia's law and justice framework, and to facilitate jobs growth through policies that promote fair, productive, flexible and safe workplaces.
They also provide legal services to the Commonwealth, including legal advice and representation.
This will be a 12 month contract with the view for permanency.

About the Role
The client is looking for an EL1 HR Business Partner to join their busy and high perfoming HR Branch. The EL1 HRBP will support the development of new and innovative Talent Attraction and Retention Strategies including critical identification of required skills and behavioural competencies for each vacancy or grouped vacancies, and the means of advertising employment opportunities to attract different skill sets required across the department. 
 
Duties:
  • Provide professional recruitment advice and recruitment services to meet the diverse needs of the department, ensuring practices and processes reflect contemporary recruitment best practice and reflect the department’s workforce and inclusion strategies.
  • Liaise with external service providers and other government agencies on current and proposed recruitment changes 
  • Undertake and co-ordinate research projects, programs, and operational plans to deliver against  strategic people management plans.
  • Implement and evaluate strategies to deliver a high-quality recruitment administration and customer service to managers and staff on all external and internal recruitment.
  • Manage and oversee recruitment data and reporting.
  • Lead and manage a small dynamic team including building capability through coaching others, providing performance feedback, conflict resolution and encouraging career development.
Key skills and knowledge
You will be highly motivated and enjoy a busy working environment with the ability to work across multiple tasks managing priorities and leading a small and dynamic team. Along with experience in a similar role and the ability to critically think, analyse and implement initiatives, you will also have the following skills and experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in contemporary recruitment policy, practice, and procedures.
  • Previous experience developing and communicating HR generalist advice with a proven ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to achieve a high level of trust and respect to influence outcomes and communicate findings.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, managing and delivering projects in a timely manner, including an understanding of and ability to apply risk management principles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Human Resource Management Information Systems.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant professional memberships will be highly regarded.
