Job description

EL1 Project Manager
  • $903.37 / Daily Rate / Ex Super
  • Deakin, ACT
  • 12-month contract (possible extension)
The Role
The EL1 Project Manager will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the agencies objectives.
 
Duties
  • Developing, managing and implementing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
  • Contributing to project design, governance arrangements and operational integration.
  • Ensuring project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Researching, reviewing and evaluating projects in specific operational or technical areas.
  • Reporting on project outputs to stakeholders and overseeing regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
  • Preparing and reviewing written material including business cases, plans, reports and executive briefs and corporate documentation.
  • Undertaking budget management, monitoring expenditure and overseeing procurement and contract management activities.
  • Identifying, assessing, managing, escalating and monitoring project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies.
  • Analysing project performance and coordinating quality management activities to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
Essential criteria
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an ICT project manager.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex ICT projects within budget and on time.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to manage risks and deliver on commitments.
  • Proven ability to foster high performing teams through empowering and mentoring.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and deliver organisational strategies into tangible technological solutions.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working with government organisations and understanding of government processes and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading digital transformation projects and driving innovation in the public sector.
