EL1 Senior Research Officer
The EL1 Assistant Director will support the planning and conduct of evidence reviews (e.g., systematic reviews, living reviews, meta-analyses) and primary research aiming to deliver the best available research evidence to inform Agency decisions. It is a junior leadership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.

Duties
- Working with internal & external stakeholders to scope, develop and manage project plans.
- Designing and documenting protocols for environmental scans, evidence snapshots, scoping or systematic reviews of evidence relevant to participants or models of practice.
- Conducting searches of scientific and grey literature in accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) standards.
- Performing research in line with documented protocols for inclusion/exclusion of records, data extraction, quality appraisal and data synthesis.
- Maintaining project related records including research software or platforms.
- Engaging with external and internal stakeholders to interpret findings and support translation.
- Preparing and presenting research reports and recommendations for different stakeholders, including internal slide-pack summaries for stakeholders.
- Contributing methodological or subject matter expertise in research methods, psychosocial disability, early childhood interventions or neurological disorders or other areas with relevance to disability supports.
- Supervising a small team on ad-hoc or ongoing basis
- Supporting the growth of junior staff
- Leading or supporting broader projects across the Branch
- Planning & conducting systematic reviews of research evidence
- Familiarity with evidence synthesis methods
- Prior research experience in disability, psychology, medicine, epidemiology, education, economics, social science, statistics or related fields
- Prior experience in government or NGOs is not required Excel - Competency with required systems, software and programs, including SAS and Excel
- Other - Ability to read and interpret data models and specifications.
- Tertiary qualifications in mathematics, statistical, computer sciences discipline or more than three years relevant work experience.
- Experience with statistical analysis using R
- Experience in meta-analysis
