About the Organisation & Team
Our client is a Federal Government Commission looking to engage a Senior Workforce Planner for a 12 month (maternity cover) non-ongoing contract. A temporary S26 will be also available for the right candidate.  
The successfull candidate will be part of the HR Strategy and Reporting team within the People Section in the Enabling and Digital Services Group. The team is responsible for workforce strategy, planning and reporting; career and performance management; workplace relations including Enterprise Agreement and HR policies; organisation design, wellbeing; diversity; culture; and learning and development.
We are seeking an engaged, driven and proactive strategic workforce planning professional. This position operates with a high level of autonomy and is critical in the delivery of our Workforce Strategy. We require an adaptable and positive individual who can lead a workforce planning and reporting function, provide strategic and expert advice to our stakeholders, and build partnerships across the business

About you
Our preferred candidate for the role will:
  • have demonstrated experience as a strategic human resources practitioner and / or workforce planner in an APS agency
  • demonstrate a thorough understanding of operational and strategic workforce planning principles and practices
  • have an ability to lead with a high degree of autonomy, good judgement and deliver quality outcomes
  • be able to develop and comprehend data, and derive insights from multiple sources to support analysis effectively and efficiently,
  • have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills
About the role 
  • leading and managing various projects related to workforce planning and reporting
  • developing organisational strategies to support workforce planning decisions
  • managing key stakeholder relationships including internal and external communications
  • engaging in complex problem solving and issues management
  • preparing business cases, minute papers, briefs, business planning documents, project documentation and proposal papers for an executive audience
  • providing subject matter expertise and advice across a broad range of HR areas, and particularly within HR strategy, workforce planning and reporting.
Additional qualifications/experience:
The following are desirable but not essential:
  • Qualifications in Human Resources, Workforce Planning, Organisational Development or similar fields
  • Qualifications or experience working with position/establishment management in SAP HR systems or similar
  • Significant experience working with large data sets to develop higher level strategy or executive papers.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Baseline Clearance.
