Job description
Our client, a Federal Government department, is looking for an experienced Capital Works Director, to join their Brisbane based Property team on a 12-month contract. The Property team manage the delivery and maintenance of the department’s properties, the associated fit-out of sites and capital works. This includes the coordination of maintenance and repair work, site establishment, decommissioning and relocations as well as the management of leasing of standalone sites and co-located arrangements with other Federal Government departments.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
· Leading and managing detailed and sensitive property projects
· Managing end-to-end construction project management including planning, design, approvals, procurement, delivery and handover
· Writing business cases, plans, executive briefs, project reports, status updates and exception reports
· Developing research and analysis, including the preparation of draft reports on project activities
· Managing the project budgets, reviewing and reporting on expenditure
· Identifying and managing program governance including the management of project risks, issues and benefits
· Establishing and managing procurement and contracts for the delivery of the programme and monitor contractor performance
· Leading and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and encourage high performance collaborative behaviours
Ideally, the successful candidate will have skills in property capital works with complex scope, relevant experience in project leadership and management roles, qualification in Project Management as well as deep knowledge of Project Management and Construction Management systems and principles.
To be considered for this role, Australian Citizenship is essential, as is the ability to obtain and maintain a National Criminal History Check.
