Job description

Event Manager - 3 days per week - ASAP start - Perth CBD -State Government Client

Our state government client is seeking an experienced Event Manager to assist in hosting the 2025 World Best Vineyards (WBV) event, as well as support the ATEC Meeting Place event to be hosted in October 2025. 

Rate: $70-75 per hour plus Super 

Hours: Part-time - 3 days per week 
Duration: 6-7 months 
Start: ASAP until 28/11/2025 
Type: Temporary casual contract (no leave entitlements – casual loading included in rate) 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Manage event contracts to ensure compliance, value for money, and service delivery. 
  • Secure and coordinate accommodation, venues, and delegate touring programs. 
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with tourism, hospitality, event suppliers, and sponsors. 
  • Provide event-related communications and briefing notes to the Minister’s office. 
  • Lead event working groups, including Communications and Marketing/Branding teams. 
  • Liaise with internal departments to align event requirements. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design event visual displays. 
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and outcomes to ensure successful delivery. 
  • Advise external stakeholders on event operations and partnership opportunities. 
  • Coordinate event marketing, promotions, and communications. 
About You 
  • Significant event management experience including contract management and high-level negotiation skills.  
  • Experience in managing stakeholder relations and expectations.  
  • Experience in the travel and tourism industry including a good working knowledge of the Australian and Western Australian tourism industry.  
  • Experience of budget management including monitoring and reporting on financial progress and the ability to work within budgetary parameters.  
  • A high level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate with, negotiate and liaise with internal and external clients at all levels and from varied backgrounds.
