DFP Perth are seeking an experienced Events Coordinator to engage on a temporary contract with our client based in Fremantle and Rottnest Island. The Events Coordinator position is responsible for managing and coordinating the events management functions for a State Government Agency. This role supports the organization by overseeing event development, attraction, and leveraging. The Events Coordinator will foster and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

End Date: 31st of December - 6 month contract

Hours per week: Full time – Rostered working arrangement including some weekend/Public Holiday hours.
Salary: $50-55 per hour + Superannuation

Key Responsibilities:
- Event Development Coordination:
- Coordinate corporate and consumer events, including both direct delivery and third-party events.
- Measure, report, and analyze the outcomes of event activities.
- Implement the annual event plan, ensuring adherence to project management and governance requirements.
- Event Attraction Coordination:
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on event proposals.
- Coordinate and administer third-party event applications and assessments.
- Event Leveraging Coordination:
- Support the Consumer Marketing Manager with research and analysis for event sponsorships.
- Assist with event marketing activities including brief development, planning, and reporting.
- Event Service Delivery Coordination:
- Provide event services to internal clients to help them achieve their business objectives.
- Plan and execute event responsibilities, ensuring compliance with project management and governance standards.
Essential:
- Experience in an events role, preferably within a tourism or government context, with the delivery of major consumer and corporate events.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, can communicate and present clearly to various audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare event plans and coordinate operational event planning processes and logistical requirements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet concurrent deadlines.
- Understanding of the marketing process and experience in collaboration for event promotion.
- Commitment to and promotion of the principles of equity, diversity, and work health and safety in the workplace.
- Behavior that reflects Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
- Degree or qualification in Events or a related field.
- Knowledge of State Government processes.
- Current unrestricted ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Must be capable of commuting to and from the island regularly and staying overnight on the island as required.
- Must be willing to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays, with work hours posted in advance.
