Finance Business Officer – Policy

Level G8 equivalent | Immediate Start Preferred | 3-Month Initial Term

DFP Recruitment is a preferred supplier of choice to State Government departments and agencies. I am currently partnering with a large State Government Health Service Provider to recruit an experienced Finance Business Officer – Policy for an initial 3-month assignment, with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level advice in the development, implementation, and evaluation of financial and accounting policy.
  • Analyse and monitor the impact of changes in financial frameworks and legislation.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with the Financial Management Act 2006, Australian Accounting Standards, and Treasury Instructions.
  • Coordinate compliance with purchasing card policy and support corporate reporting functions.
  • Prepare detailed briefing notes, reports, and ministerial correspondence relating to financial matters.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in finance, accounting, or economics.
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting and financial statement preparation.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial policy development in a large or complex organisation.
  • Exceptional written communication and analytical skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
  • Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to financial governance initiatives.
