Job description

  • Position: Governance Officer
  • Location: Parramatta, NSW
  • Type: 6-month contract (with possibility of extension)
  • Salary: $58 – 64 per hour + super (depending on experience)
  • Work From Home: 2 days per week post-training period
Our State Government Client is currently seeking an experienced Governance Officer to join their Parramatta team. The Governance Officer will support the implementation and management of ethics, compliance, and risk management policies, promoting a culture of effective governance.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Provide advice on corporate governance, statutory requirements, and best practices
  • Deliver training on ethical conduct and risk management
  • Review internal reports, allegations, and disclosures; conduct investigations
  • Maintain and analyze governance data; prepare management reports
  • Draft and maintain ethics, compliance, and risk management policies
  • Support enterprise risk management and internal audit functions
  • Provide secretariat support to the Audit and Risk Committee
  • Assist with other governance and compliance processes as needed
 The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Proven experience in governance, compliance, or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Must be willing to obtain a National Police Check and provide 2 x references if successful
