DFP Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer / Senior Desktop Engineer (SOE) to work within the Covert and Technical Operations (CTO) Transition Program, delivering the Lyrebird platform.
Role responsibilities
- Build, install, configure, test, and maintain a secure desktop Standard Operating Environment (SOE).
- Deploy the SOE to desktop devices using automation tools to standardise infrastructure and user environments.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and perform regular maintenance, patching, and updates to ensure optimal SOE performance and security.
- Provide technical support to end users for desktop-related hardware, software, and operating system issues.
- Deliver knowledge transfer and technical guidance to team members to support capability uplift and operational continuity.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as required to support operational and business needs.
- Formal information and communications technology qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution or demonstrated skills and experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a similar role.
- Strong experience with Linux desktop operating systems, particularly Debian-based distributions such as Ubuntu.
- Proven knowledge and experience in configuring, hardening, and supporting secure desktop SOE environments.
- Hands-on experience with SOE deployment automation and remote device management tools.
- Ability to work within security-focused environments and follow strict operational and documentation standards.
