Job description

Our Government client is seeking multiple candidates for a number of contracts varying in length from 3-12 months.
We are looking for proactive and experienced Legal Administrative Officers to provide high-quality, timely secretarial and administrative support to the legal team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver accurate, high-level word processing and document preparation including formatting legal documents, briefs, reports, and correspondence.
  • Dictaphone transcription skills (preferred but not essential).
  • Manage correspondence, calendars, and scheduling for meetings and conferences including the preparation of agendas, minutes, and associated documents.
  • Coordinate travel, accommodation, and event logistics for legal staff.
  • Maintain and manage information systems and databases (e.g., VisualFiles, Excel, and filing systems).
  • Support legal professionals with billing, time recording, and processing legal payments and counsel fees.
  • Navigate changing priorities, interruptions, and tight deadlines while maintaining strong performance and attention to detail.
  • Liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders on confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Support the Executive Legal Secretary in driving continuous improvement in processes and standards.
  • Respond to client feedback and contribute to service delivery improvements.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and diverse workplace.
  • Demonstrate and uphold high standards of client service and professional conduct.
  • Work flexibly across various teams as required and contribute to broader operational initiatives.
About You
You will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience in a legal administrative or secretarial setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems (e.g., VisualFiles).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt.
