Job description

Network Engineer.

DFP Recruitment is partnering with a global organisation who are at the inception stages in Melbourne of a number of large pieces of work. Due to this, they are looking to grow their teams. In this instance they are looking for a Network Engineer.
This is a permanent and hybrid position based in the Melbourne, CBD.
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that supports their specific internal systems and operations. This position requires strong technical expertise in network engineering, a deep understanding of networking principles, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues. The Network Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the reliability, security, and optimal performance of our client's network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
• Network Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Implement and manage network protocols, routing, and switching configurations. Perform regular network maintenance tasks and ensure firmware and software upgrades are executed in a timely manner.
• Network Performance Optimization: Monitor network performance, analyze network traffic patterns, and optimize network configurations to ensure optimal performance and minimize latency. Conduct capacity planning and implement strategies to accommodate growth and scalability.
• Network Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to connectivity, performance, and security. Perform root cause analysis, collaborate with cross functional teams, and implement effective solutions to minimize network disruptions and downtime.
• Network Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures. Generate reports on network performance, capacity utilization, and incident resolution. Document and communicate network changes and maintenance activities to stakeholders.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to gather requirements, address technical issues, and provide network-related support. Communicate effectively to provide timely updates, manage expectations, and escalate critical network-related matters as needed.
• Project Delivery: Support Solution Architects with project delivery activities.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardization in network engineering practices. Propose and implement enhancements to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance network reliability and performance.
