Job description

DFP Recruitment are seeking reliable and experienced Government Payroll or HR professionals for numerous government personnel and payroll temporary contracts around Perth, Western Australia.
  • Competitive hourly rates - $35-50 per hour plus Super (depending on experience)
  • Short and long-term temporary contracts available
  • Local, State and Federal clients
  • Perth CBD, NOR and SOR locations
 
Responsibilities may include:
  • Calculates entitlements and checks data integrity to ensure employee entitlements are consistent with those outlined in relevant awards and agreements
  • Resolves issues or errors associated with payroll output.
  • Checks and processes all employee commencement, cessation and extension of service advice.
  • Determines, authorises and processes salaries, wages and allowances for employees ensuring compliance with awards and agreements.
  • Creates and maintains personnel and payroll records for all Departmental employees.
  • Checks and authorises the payment of monies for salary increments, higher duties, resignations, retirements and leave.
  • Provides advice to Departmental employees regarding conditions of service and rates of pay.
  • Processes applications for annual leave, long service leave, sick leave, special leave and accrued leave.
  • Processes taxation deductions in accordance with Australian Taxation legislation.
  • Deals with complex personnel and payroll issues.

SELECTION CRITERIA
  1. Experience in the maintenance of staff records and payroll production in an integrated Human Resource Management Information System.
  2. Relevant experience in the effective delivery of services to clients together with a personal commitment to continually achieving a high level of client satisfaction.
  3. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills together with the ability to liaise with others at all levels.
  4. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Good organisational and prioritising skills together with the capacity to utilise initiative in a demanding environment.
 
About You:
  • Government payroll or HR experience (min 6 months)
  • Experience with RAMS or other government HRMIS
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Advanced MS Office Suite
  • Full working rights
  • Able to pass police clearance check (if required)
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including booster, if eligible)
