Recruitment Consultant | Sydney - 12 Month Maternity Leave Contract

Job description

At DFP Recruitment, we believe great recruitment is built on trust, relationships, and a deep understanding of people. Since 1981, we’ve partnered with organisations across Australia to help build thriving teams and long‑term careers. Our people‑first approach is grounded in integrity, professionalism and genuine care — qualities that continue to set us apart as one of Australia’s leading recruitment specialists.

We’re now looking for a Recruitment Consultant to join our passionate Sydney team on a 12‑month maternity leave contract, with the potential for ongoing employment for the right person.

This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of agency recruitment experience. You’ll work closely with and be mentored by both our Branch Manager and Senior Recruitment Consultant, supporting end‑to‑end recruitment with opportunities for future development, potential earnings and targets as you grow.

About the role

As a Recruitment Consultant, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping people find meaningful work and supporting organisations to build thriving teams. In this 12‑month contract you will:

  • Support the Senior Recruitment Consultant with placements and candidate management.
  • Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes across high‑volume temporary and permanent roles, particularly within government.
  • Oversee timesheets, onboarding coordination and candidate care.
  • Manage workflows, activity and compliance within the ATS (Salesforce).
  • Build strong relationships with candidates and clients based on trust and service excellence.
  • Use assessment tools and structured methodologies to match talent quickly and effectively.
  • Contribute to DFP’s reputation for ethical, high‑quality, people‑first recruitment.
  • Work toward future opportunities for targets, conversions and potential earnings as part of your development pathway.

About you

You bring 1–2 years’ experience in recruitment or a talent‑focused role and are ready for the next step. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Build rapport quickly and confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Are proactive, adaptable and solutions‑focused in fast‑paced recruitment environments.
  • Have experience supporting or managing government recruitment processes and compliance.
  • Are organised, detail‑oriented and passionate about delivering exceptional service.
  • Bring curiosity, ambition and a commitment to continual growth.

You’ll be joining a company that is:

  • Ethical and people‑first, guided by integrity and professionalism at every step.
  • Deeply connected, valuing relationships with candidates, clients, colleagues and community.
  • Committed to inclusion, including strong practices supporting candidates with disability.
  • Focused on excellence, taking pride in delivering high‑quality outcomes.
  • Safety‑led, ensuring the wellbeing of everyone we work with.
