Our State Government client is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Risk Management Specialist to support our team in facilitating risk workshops, completing risk assessments, and enhancing our risk management documentation. This is a short-term contract role with a fast-paced timeline, requiring a proactive and skilled professional to ensure the successful delivery of key risk management activities by August 2025.

Our State Government client is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Risk Management Specialist to support our team in facilitating risk workshops, completing risk assessments, and enhancing our risk management documentation. This is a short-term contract role with a fast-paced timeline, requiring a proactive and skilled professional to ensure the successful delivery of key risk management activities by August 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise and facilitate risk workshops and meetings across government departments to identify and assess potential risks.
- Engage stakeholders to promote collaboration and consensus in risk identification and prioritisation.
- Provide expert advice and support during risk discussions to ensure thorough evaluation and mitigation planning.
- Assist in conducting detailed risk assessments following government regulations and best practices.
- Regularly review and update Risk Registers to maintain an accurate and current risk profile.
- Collaborate with teams to validate risk data and recommend improvements to controls and mitigation measures.
- Develop and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to government needs.
- Prepare risk mitigation and contingency plans to enhance organisational preparedness and resilience.
- Promote a risk-aware culture through training and dissemination of risk management documentation.
Requirements:
- Experience within similar roles, Government experience highly advantageous
- Proven Risk Management experience within a project or program environment
- Experience in capital works and/or infrastructure project environments is highly desirable
- Project Management experience is a plus
- Availability to commence in early July and deliver within a tight deadline
