The Opportunity
Located near Sale an opportunity exists for an experienced Safety advisor to join their operations on an initial 12-month contract. Provides safety support to the site leadership team and the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Contractor's organisation. In some cases, responsibilities may extend to other Safety, Security, Health, and Environmental (Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) ) issues, status, and metrics.

The Position
We are looking for a reliable Safety Manager to ensure everyone in the company complies with health and safety laws. The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety audits and inspections, and providing safety training for employees. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation. 
 
  • Provide ongoing support to proponent organisation's to assist them in implementing the Safety Management System and in meeting safety objectives and expectations.
  • This support includes: assisting Business Lines in developing safety processes related to risk assessment and management, safety training, asset integrity, safe operations, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, incident investigations, etc.
  • Conduct field inspections of onshore oil/gas facilities, project construction sites and support facilities such office buildings, warehouses, and communities. This includes working with BL to identify safety concerns, formulate solutions, and develop practical and cost-effective corrective actions.
  • Participate in various safety studies/activities, such as: PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, or insurance surveys.

  • Bachelors certificate in this field or equivalent (preferred not essential)
  • Demonstrated work experience in construction safety-related positions (prior oil & gas experience desirable)
  • In depth knowledge of security processes and procedures
  • Proficient in use of computers and programs such as MS Office Suite
  • Great communication both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent project performance
  • Ability to liaise with all Stakeholders
  • Able to complete field tasks, sometimes within harsh environments
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently, adhering to company processes and procedures
