Job description

Seeking an experienced Service Reliability Engineer for our client to maintain and improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of services for their team. They will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure the stability and efficiency of systems, as well as to manage incidents and mitigate risks. They will be required to collaborate with key business stakeholders and our in-house development team to enhance and support the development of projects within our client’s project teams.
 
Must be an Australian Citizen with Baseline Clearance
Locations; Perth WA, Canberra ACT

 
Key duties and responsibilities

•    Overseeing reliability issues impacting ICT applications and services.
•    Enhancing and refining ICT monitoring including security events.
•    Developing and maintaining automated alert escalations.
•    Developing and maintaining automated incident remediations.
•    Working directly with technical support areas to resolve reliability issues.
•    Monitoring services and responding to alerts.
•    Maintaining situational awareness of cyber trends. 
 
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with configuring and using monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace, scripting languages SQL/ Python/ SPL/DQL, working with AWS or Azure cloud platforms and Monitoring Network deployments such as Fortinet. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards preferably in federal government would be highly regarded.

Experience with automation and configuration management tools like Terraform/ Ansible/ Chef, or Puppet and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab CI/ GitHub Actions would be beneficial.
