About the role
The Tax Manager, reporting to the Group Finance Manager – Investments, is responsible for the Group’s ongoing tax compliance. You’ll Assist the Executives and Management with strategic tax advice and structuring options across the Group and advise the Group on changing tax legislation, identifying and proactively managing the potential impacts of these changes.
 
This role has no direct reports however it does have key internal and external relationships.
 
About you
You’ll have 5+ years’ experience in Tax Management, ideally stemming from a large consultancy environment. You’ll be an effective communicator at ease with managing internal and external relationships from a customer centric viewpoint. Thrive in a team environment as the subject matter expert and be able demonstrate your expertise and knowledge through your previous experience.
 
The key areas for consideration of this role are:
  1. Tax Compliance Knowledge: The candidate should have a deep understanding of tax compliance requirements, including business activity statements (BAS), instalment activity statements (IAS), fringe benefits tax returns, individual and consolidated tax returns, Division 7A compliance, and UK establishment tax obligations.
  2. Strategic Tax Advice: The candidate should be capable of providing strategic tax advice and structuring options to support the organisation's financial goals.
  3. Tax Legislation Expertise: Stay up-to-date with changing tax legislation and be able to advise the group on how these changes might impact the organisation. Proactive management of the potential impact of tax changes is also essential.
  4. Relationship Management: The tax manager should be skilled in managing relationships with external tax advisors. This includes coordinating and leveraging their expertise effectively.
  5. Financial Reporting: Proficiency in financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly management financial reports, cash flow reconciliations, analysis of financial and accounting data, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  6. Audit Coordination: Experience in liaising with auditors and facilitating year-end financial audits as per the Group Finance Manager's schedule.
  7. Financial Analysis: Strong analytical skills to assess financial data and identify opportunities for improvement or cost-saving.
  8. Tax Optimisation: A focus on ensuring that the group manages its affairs in a tax-effective manner, which may involve tax optimisation strategies.
  9. Compliance with ATO Requirements: Understanding and Adherence to ATO Top 500 Performance Programme Requirements.

  • Hold a current National Police Check (less than 6 months old)
