Job description

The State Government is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to play a pivotal role in strengthening Queensland’s building and construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-level leadership in the delivery of project management consulting services while ensuring exceptional outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

This is a contract role, commencing ASAP and will go through till December 2025, with the possibility of extension. This role is paying $78.02 per hour plus super.

About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will lead the coordination and management of building projects across all phases, from pre-design to post-construction. You will work closely with consultants, contractors, clients, and internal teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership capability, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end project activities including design, documentation, contract administration, and delivery.
  • Provide effective leadership and mentoring to project staff and consultants.
  • Oversee contract coordination across traditional and non-traditional systems.
  • Ensure projects meet scope, time, cost, cash-flow, quality, and profitability targets.
  • Lead negotiations with stakeholders to achieve value-for-money outcomes.
  • Monitor project performance, prepare reports, and conduct audits.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures.
About You
You are a proactive and results-driven project leader with strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. You bring demonstrated experience in managing complex building projects and leading multidisciplinary teams. A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning, or Quantity Surveying is highly regarded but not essential.
