APS4 Finance Officer | 4-Month Labour Hire Contract | Canberra Based


About the Client:

Our client is a prominent cultural institution committed to preserving and sharing Australia’s documentary heritage. Their Corporate Branch plays a vital role in ensuring strategic financial governance and operational excellence. They are currently seeking an APS4 Finance Officer to support finance operations within a collaborative and purpose-driven team.


About the Role:

As an APS4 Finance Officer, you will contribute to the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. This role supports accounts payable and receivable functions, reconciliations, and month-end processes. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial processing in line with Commonwealth frameworks.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial reconciliations
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Support payment runs and manage invoice processing mailboxes
  • Assist with debt collection and reporting
  • Manage credit card acquittals and support month-end accruals
  • Respond to account queries and provide procedural advice
  • Apply financial policies and procedures consistently and professionally

Skills and Experience:
  • Ability to apply financial legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Experience using accounting systems
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable:
  • Experience in financial operations
  • Knowledge of GST, FBT, and Commonwealth Financial Frameworks

Essential Requirements:
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a national police check
