Job description

The Opportunity 

We are seeking an APS4 Finance Officer to join a Federal Government Agency based in Geelong or Richmond. This is a 12-month contract, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The APS4 Finance Officer will work within the Financial Control Branch who manage the maintenance and development of finance systems, analyse financial performance, and provide financial advice to support decision making within the organisation.

As a Finance Officer, you will be required to;
  • Facilitate transaction processing in the systems to ensure financial data is accurate and complete.
  • Extract and analyse data from SAP and other financial systems to resolve enquiries.
  • Prepare accurate and timely management reports as required.
  • Provide input into the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the team
  • Work with key stakeholders to support various project initiatives.
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate; 
  • A relevant tertiary degree with subsequent on-the-job experience.
  • An ability to use computer/software applications including Microsoft Office and financial management systems.
  • Sound organisation and time management skills.
  • An ability to interpret and analyse financial data and develop into concise and meaningful reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication including the ability to communicate with stakeholders.
  • An ability to show good judgment, initiative and undertake tasks independently.
  • Previous experience in Government Agencies or a large organisation may be advantageous.
