SAS Senior Developer

Job description

Contract Duration – 12 months contract with possible extension
Location – Canberra and Adelaide 
Security clearance -Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1

DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced SAS Developer to join a high-performing data and analytics team. This role is ideal for a senior-level professional who can combine strong technical expertise with leadership capability to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining SAS-based data systems that support evidence-based decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain SAS-based data solutions for analytics and reporting
  • Develop, test, and optimise SAS programs for data extraction, transformation, and reporting
  • Work with large and complex datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Optimise code for performance and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards
  • Produce clear and maintainable documentation for code and workflows
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in analytics and reporting
Technical Skills & Experience
  • SAS Base, • SAS Macro • SAS/SQL • SAS Data Integration Studio • SAS Data Flux • SAS Enterprise Guide.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases
  • Proven ability to handle large-scale data processing and manipulation

  • Design, code, test, and maintain complex programs and data solutions

  • Deliver robust designs for moderately complex applications and components
