A skilled APS6 Network Engineer is sought to assist in designing, deploying, and managing secure, enterprise-level ICT network solutions for a federal government agency.
This role is technically focused and includes leadership responsibilities, requiring the ability to work independently and handle complex network infrastructure and operational tasks.
The successful candidate will engage in strategic planning, lead small technical teams, support business improvement initiatives, and offer high-level advice on network systems and security.
This role is a 18th month assignment, could be extended subject to business needs. Pay rate is $60.26/hr.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, construction, and maintenance of WAN/LAN infrastructure using industry-standard techniques.
- Implement and oversee network security protocols across physical, wireless, and cloud environments.
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure and application issues using certified diagnostic tools and methods.
- Support change management processes, including patching, testing, and documentation.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in networking technologies and practices.
- Contribute to planning and project management activities, ensuring high-quality technical outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address technical issues and support service delivery.
- Possesses extensive experience in managing and troubleshooting enterprise networks.
- Holds relevant industry certifications (e.g., Cisco, CompTIA, or equivalent).
- Capable of working independently with sound judgment, discretion, and initiative.
- Experienced in leading technical teams or mentoring staff.
- Exhibits strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Familiar with government ICT environments and related policies and standards.
