About the role
 
The APS6 Policy Officer position will provide policy support, advice and analysis in relation to policy-related matters, including complex policy problems.
 
You will be responsible for:
  • Gathering and collating documents, ensuring appropriate consultation with document owners and subject matter experts.
  • Reviewing case files and preparing summaries of cases.
  • Providing high level support to senior leaders who are appearing as witnesses before a Royal Commission.
  • Interpreting and distilling information to provide briefings to senior leaders.
  • Performing independent research and analysis, recording findings to be included in information submitted to senior executives and/or the Royal Commission.
  • Preparing draft written material including executive briefs and corporate documentation.
  • Identifying and assisting with the management of risks, issues and benefits.
Skills and Experience
 
Previous experience in:
  • a policy officer or similar position
  • providing high level support to senior leaders and executives
  • preparing and drafting written material
  • performing independent research and analysis
