Portfolio Analyst | 12 Month Labour Hire Contract (2x 12 Month Extensions Available) | APS6 Equivalent


About the Client:

Our client is a government organisation leading national digital health initiatives. They are seeking an APS6 Portfolio Analyst to support the uplift and delivery of best practice across programs and projects within a dynamic and collaborative environment.


About the Role:

As a Portfolio Analyst (APS6) within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), you will play a key role in implementing and embedding portfolio management frameworks, tools, and processes. You’ll work closely with Directors and Managers to ensure effective planning, performance monitoring, and assurance across a diverse portfolio of programs and projects.


Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Prioritisation and Planning:
  • Prioritisation and investment optimisation
  • Work plan and schedule development
  • Resource planning and benefits monitoring
Portfolio Performance:
  • Performance reporting and analysis
  • Program and project management support
  • Risk and issue tracking
  • Governance and committee support
Portfolio Systems and Capabilities:
  • Assurance monitoring and review
  • Methods and tools support
  • PPM system support
  • Knowledge management


Skills and Experience:
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in assurance activities such as project health checks and gate reviews
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, and Office 365
  • Experience supporting portfolio prioritisation and planning
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies

Essential Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance (or higher if required)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a national police check

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in project management
  • Certifications in MSP, Prince2, PMBOK, Agile, or similar
