About the role
 
As an APS6/EL1 Freedom of Information Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery of strategic advice relating to requests made under the FOI Act.
 
The successful candidate will engage with applicants, and Decision Makers across government and industry to prepare timely, accurate decisions and provide comprehensive advice.
 
Skills and Experience
 
Holding an active Baseline clearance is desirable, however not essential.
  • Our ideal candidate is agile and adaptive, possesses highly-developed communication skills and thrives in a complex environment.
  • You will have well-developed analytical skills and acumen coupled with a strong level of strategic awareness to recognise links between interconnected issues.
  • You will work collaboratively and under limited direction to balance competing priorities, interpret legislation and policy and provide high quality advice to decision makers within legislated timeframes.
  • Prior knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying policy or legislation is ideal, but not essential.
  • Experience in processing Freedom of Information requests is desirable, but not mandatory.
  • EL1 – legal experince/background as well as FOI experince is desirable
