Job description

We are seeking an experienced Systems Trainer to support the successful rollout and adoption of a major technology transformation program. This role sits within a dedicated Change Management team responsible for delivering training, communication, and transition support for a large and strategically significant IT initiative within Federal Government.

Working closely with a Training Manager and a multidisciplinary change team, the Systems Trainer will design and deliver engaging training experiences that help stakeholders confidently adopt new systems and ways of working. The position requires strong collaboration with program teams and operational stakeholders to ensure training materials, approaches, and schedules align with business needs and program delivery timelines.

This is an exciting opportunity for a training professional who enjoys working in complex program environments and is passionate about building capability, supporting organisational change, and improving user adoption of new technologies.

About the Role
Reporting to the Training Manager, you will play a key role in planning, developing, and delivering training strategies that support system implementation and business readiness. You will act as the bridge between program teams and business users, ensuring learning solutions are practical, engaging, and tailored to the needs of different audiences.

Working within an established change management capability, you will collaborate with a range of stakeholders to design effective training materials, coordinate delivery schedules, and evaluate training outcomes to support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of training strategies for a large digital transformation program
  • Collaborate with change and program teams to understand business requirements and align training with program milestones
  • Design and develop engaging training materials including user guides, learning modules, and instructional videos
  • Deliver training sessions both virtually and in person to support system adoption
  • Coordinate training schedules to ensure activities align with program delivery and business readiness
  • Analyse training needs and support the transition from current processes to future system capabilities
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to promote awareness and adoption of training initiatives
  • Monitor and report on training delivery, participation, and effectiveness
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of training materials and approaches based on feedback and evaluation
About You
You are an adaptable training professional who thrives in dynamic program environments and enjoys working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. You bring strong communication skills, a practical understanding of adult learning principles, and the ability to translate complex system changes into clear and accessible learning materials.

Key Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively while contributing to program outcomes
  • Experience across the full training lifecycle including needs assessment, design, development, delivery, and evaluation
  • Ability to assess learner needs and develop effective training and knowledge resources
  • Experience developing fit-for-purpose training materials for diverse audiences (e.g., guides, videos, digital modules)
  • Proven experience supporting the delivery of learning and development initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across varied audiences
  • High-quality written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capability to support training planning and evaluation
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining quality and progress
  • Understanding of Agile delivery environments and change management practices within large programs
