Our client is currently seeking an APS6 Technical Advisor to join the team within a Federal Government Agency, based in Adelaide.
The Technical Advisory Branch sits within the Operations and Support Division and is responsible for providing specialist technical, clinical and operational advice in relation to complex and novel cases and support requests. The branch provides nuanced, sensitive and high‑quality specialised clinical and technical advice aligned with relevant legislation and policy, ensuring supports meet participants’ varied and sometimes complex needs.
The Technical Advisory Branch drives consistency in the application of reasonable and necessary planning decisions and Access decision‑making frameworks, as outlined in the NDIS Act and Rules, tools and operational guidelines, to support the achievement of participant and scheme outcomes.
The branch also plays a critical role in supporting and building the capability of NDIA staff and partners to make complex decisions where technical or clinical advice is required and is a key contributor to policy development and practice guidance for the Agency.

Hybrid flexibility of up to two days per week may be available following completion of training.

- Providing subject matter expertise using a coaching and mentoring approach, advising on the most appropriate supports to achieve participant outcomes
- Managing sensitive and complex conversations associated with approval of funding
- Liaising and working with stakeholders, delegates, partners and providers to support consistent decision‑making and outcome achievement
- Providing high‑quality written and telephone advice and ensuring accurate record‑keeping
- Occupational Therapy
- Prosthetics and Orthotics
- Speech Pathology
- Physiotherapy
- Psychology
- Registered Nursing (must be eligible for AHPRA registration)
- Social Work
- Mental Health Practitioners
- Specialist Behavioural Support Practitioners
